Yungay, also known as Yungay Nuevo, is a town in the Ancash Region in north central Peru, South America. Yungay is situated 3½ km south of Quillas.

The 1962 Ranrahirca Landslide was a deadly debris avalanche that affected the Ranrahirca District, alongside the river Santa, near Huascarán, the highest mountain in Peru. Ranrahirca is situated 7 km south of Quillas.
