Rhede is a municipality in the Emsland district, Lower Saxony, Germany. It is situated on the river Ems, near the border with the Netherlands, approx. 10 km west of Papenburg, and 20 km southeast of Winschoten.Places of Interest

Tunxdorf is a small village near Papenburg, Lower Saxony, Germany. Along with the neighbouring village of Nenndorf, it constitutes the "Tunxdorf-Nenndorf" district of Papenburg. In 1992, 343 inhabitants overall lived in Tunxdorf and Nenndorf. Tunxdorf is situated 4½ km northeast of Rhede.
