Discovery Sound or Pinochet Strait is an east-west trending channel 0.5 nautical miles wide, between Guepratte Island and Briggs Peninsula, on the northeast side of Anvers Island, in the Palmer Archipelago.- Type: Channel

Head Island is a small island that lies 1.1 kilometres south of Andrews Point and close to the northeast side of Anvers Island, Antarctica. The feature is situated at the southeast side of Hackapike Bay and is not to be confused with Pear Island and False Island which are just northeastward. Head Island is situated 4 km east of Pinochet Strait.
