The Fildes Peninsula is a 7 km long peninsula that forms the south-western end of King George Island in the South Shetland Islands of Antarctica. It was named from association with nearby Fildes Strait by the UK Antarctic Place-Names Committee in 1960; the strait was likely named for Robert Fildes, a British sealer of the 1800s.

The South Shetland Islands are a group of Antarctic islands located in the Drake Passage with a total area of 3,687 km2. They lie about 120 kilometres north of the Antarctic Peninsula, and between 430 and 900 km southwest of the nearest point of the South Orkney Islands. Square End Island is situated 3½ km west of Gradzinski Cove.
Profound Lake
Lake
Profound Lake or Lake Profound is a lake 400 metres northwest of Jasper Point in northeast Fildes Peninsula, King George Island. The feature was named "Ozero Glubokoye" by the Soviet Antarctic Expedition working from Bellingshausen Station from 1968, but both forms of the name are already in use in the Antarctic. Profound Lake is situated 4 km south of Gradzinski Cove.
