Portimão Airport is a small airport in Montes de Alvor, near the city of Portimão in Algarve, Portugal. The airport has one single short asphalt runway in the 11/29 direction and is mainly used by general aviation, with parachuting being common from the airfield. Portimão Airport is situated 3½ km northwest of Praia do Vau.

Alvor is a town and freguesia in Portimão, in the southern Algarve region of Portugal. It is a holiday base for visiting the Ria de Alvor Nature Reserve, and has a nice beach.

Ferragudo is a Portuguese civil parish at the western border of the municipality of Lagoa. The population in 2011 was 1,973, in an area of 5.41 km2. Ferragudo serves mainly as a bedroom community for its much larger neighbour, the city of Portimão; its residents routinely travel across the Arade River to work in the neighboring municipality. Ferragudo is situated 4 km east of Praia do Vau.
