Pyeongchang is a city and a county in Gangwon. The city hosted the 2018 Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games. Pyeongchang County's slogan, "Happy700 Pyeongchang", refers to the city's average elevation of approximately 700 m, which is said to help people stay in good health.

Mitan-myeon is a myeon in Pyeongchang county of Gangwon-do South Korea. The myeon is located in northern central part of the county. The total area of Mitan-myeon is 109.74 square kilometers, and, as of 2008, the population was 1,881 people. Mitan-myeon is situated 10 km southeast of Sangam-gul.
