Town
Pyeongchang-eup is a town in South Korea and the county seat of the county of Pyeongchang. The town has a surface area of 116.31 km2 and a population of 9,940. It is located on the left bank of the river Pyeongchanggang. Pyeongchang-eup is situated 10 km north of Sanyŏngwŏl.

Pyeongchang is a city and a county in Gangwon. The city hosted the 2018 Winter Olympic and Winter Paralympic Games. Pyeongchang County's slogan, "Happy700 Pyeongchang", refers to the city's average elevation of approximately 700 m, which is said to help people stay in good health.
