Lentävänniemi

Lentävänniemi is a district in the western part of Tampere on the shores of Lake Näsijärvi in Pirkanmaa, Finland. It belongs to the northwestern part of the city and borders the Niemi and Niemenranta borders on the southwest.

Tampere is the third largest city in Finland with around 260,000 inhabitants, and around 410,000 in the metropolitan area. Located 170 km north of the Finnish coastal capital Helsinki, it is also the most populous inland town in the Nordic countries. Särkänniemi is situated 3½ km southeast of Lentävänniemi.

Näsisaari is an artificial island built in lake Näsijärvi in the Hiedanranta district of Tampere, Finland. The 800 m × 200 m island was filled in 2022 using 1.2 million cubic metres of land excavated for the Sulkavuori Central Wastewater Treatment Plant.
