Lötschberg

The Lötschberg is an Alpine mountain massif, usually associated with a major, historically important transit axis of the Alps in Switzerland with, at its core, the Lötschen Pass. Lötschberg is situated 3½ km northwest of Alplighorn.

Goppenstein is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Valais and municipality of Ferden. The station is located on the Lötschberg line of the BLS AG, just outside the southern portal of the Lötschberg tunnel. Goppenstein railway station is situated 2½ km southeast of Alplighorn.

Stausee Ferden is a reservoir on the Lonza river at Ferden, Valais, Switzerland. Its surface area is 10.6 ha. Its construction was completed in 9 June 1976. The lake has the shortest lake retention time in the world.
