Nufenen Pass is the second highest mountain pass with a paved road in Switzerland, with an elevation of 2,478 metres. It lies between the summits of Pizzo Gallina and the Nufenenstock. The road opened to motor vehicle traffic in September 1969. Nufenen Pass is situated 3½ km east of Chietalnollen.

Its surface area is 55.5 ha. The gravity dam Gries was built in 1965. Griessee is situated 3½ km southeast of Chietalnollen.
