Guist Creek Lake is a 317-acre reservoir about five miles east of Shelbyville, Kentucky. It was created in 1961 by impounding Guist Creek. The lake has 27 miles of shoreline and is stocked annually with 7,900 channel catfish per year.

Shelby County High School is a public high school in Shelbyville, Shelby County, Kentucky, United States. The school was established in 1960 and later absorbed Shelbyville High School, remaining the only high school in the district until the opening of Martha Layne Collins High School in 2010 to meet overcrowding concerns. Shelby County High School is situated 1¼ miles west of Three Mile Bridge.
