The pass serves as a crucial link between the Yarkhun River valley in the Upper Chitral District and the Karambar River valley in the Ishkoman tehsil of Ghizer District within Hunza Valley. Karambar Pass is situated 3 km southwest of Gupsuk Karambartom.

Karambar Lake, also known as Qurumbar Lake, is a high-altitude lake located in Ishkoman Valley, District Ghizer, Gilgit Baltistan, Pakistan. It is the 33rd highest lake in the world and falls in the Hindu Kush-Himalaya region, which is one of the world's richest biodiversity regions. Karambar Lake is situated 3 km southeast of Gupsuk Karambartom.
