Hiyama Subprefecture is a subprefecture of Hokkaido Prefecture, Japan located on the Oshima Peninsula on the Sea of Japan side. It includes Okushiri Island. It was established in 1897. Hokkaido Hiyama Subprefectural Bereau is situated 280 metres north of Esashi-eki.

Ubagami Daijingū is a Shinto shrine in Esashi, Hokkaidō, Japan. Its foundation date is uncertain but its existence is documented from the Edo period. It is considered the oldest Shinto Shrine in Hokkaido. Ubagami Daijingū is situated 1¼ km north of Esashi-eki.

Esashi is a town in Hiyama Subprefecture, Hokkaido, Japan. It is the capital of Hiyama Subprefecture. One of the oldest towns in Hokkaido, the name Esashi comes from the Ainu word for kombu, a type of edible kelp well known in Japan.
