Shin-Kōbe station is a railway station on the San'yō Shinkansen and the Seishin-Yamate Line serving the city of Kobe, Japan, and the surrounding area. It is located to the north of Kobe city centre, at the foot of Mount Rokkō. Shin-Kobe is situated 200 metres north of Shin-Kobe.

The museum was opened in 1984 with the objective of collecting and conserving ancient tools as an example of Japanese cultural heritage, in order to pass them on to the next generation through research and exhibitions. Takenaka Carpentry Tools Museum is situated 290 metres northeast of Shin-Kobe.
