Araquari is a municipality in the state of Santa Catarina in the South region of Brazil. The municipality of Araquari was basically colonized by Azorean immigrants, who arrived at the coast of Santa Catarina between 1748 and 1756. Araquari is situated 4½ km southwest of Ilha Comprida.
