Argentia is a Canadian commercial seaport and industrial park located in the Town of Placentia, Newfoundland and Labrador. Placentia is a town of 3,500 people on the west side of Newfoundland's Avalon Peninsula. It was the French capital of Newfoundland in the early 17th century.
