It is built on the site of the former Lansdowne Road Stadium, which was demolished in 2007, and replaced it as home to its chief tenants: the Ireland national rugby union team and the Republic of Ireland football team.

is a major Irish government complex, conference centre, and tourist attraction. It is located off Dame Street in central Dublin. Originally a chosen for its position at the highest point of central Dublin, it was mostly rebuilt, from the late 17th century onward, as a Georgian palace.
