Għasri is a village and an administrative unit of , in the western part of the island of , with a population of 525 people. By population, it is the smallest village in Gozo after , and the third-smallest in the Maltese Islands, after and .

is an island of the in the Mediterranean Sea. Smaller, more remote and less built-up than Malta itself, it is a popular destination in its own right, particularly for more mature British and German couples.

The , also known as the Dwejra Window, was a 28-metre-tall natural arch on the island of , located just off the shores of . The limestone feature, which was in Dwejra Bay close to the and , was one of the island's major tourist attractions until it collapsed in stormy weather on 8 March 2017.

, sometimes known as Mushroom Rock, and among the Maltese as Il-Ġebla tal-Ġeneral, is a small islet in the form of a 60-metre-high massive lump of limestone at the entrance to an almost circular black lagoon in Dwejra, on the coast of , itself an island in the . is situated 3½ km southwest of Għasri.

Xagħra is in . It's an attractive village of 4,900 people that houses the Ġgantija temples, and is a 5-minute drive or a 30-minute walk to Ramla i Hamra beach and to Rabat, so if you don't have too much time to explore the island, this is a good place to use as a base.
