The village lies just to the north of the small enclave Jangail belonged to Uzbekistan, less than 1 km2 in area, which is now officially merged into Kyrgyzstan. Jangy-Ayyl is situated 5 km south of Këk-Tal.

As part of the demarcation agreements of the state border between Kyrgyz Republic and Uzbekistan, the enclave was officially transferred to Kyrgyzstan on 23 June 2026. Jangail is situated 6 km south of Këk-Tal.
