Stanton is a home rule-class city in and the county seat of Powell County, Kentucky, United States. The population was 3,251 in the 2020 census. Stanton is the birthplace of Hall of Fame thoroughbred horse trainer Woody Stephens. Stanton is situated 2½ miles south of Morris Creek.
