It is a member of the Japanese Association of Zoos and Aquariums, and the aquarium is accredited as a Registered Museum by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology. Notojima Aquarium is situated 3½ km north of Notojima-Sanamimachi.
