Kerameikos also known by its Latinized form Ceramicus, is an area of , , located to the northwest of the Acropolis, which includes an extensive area both within and outside the ancient city walls, on both sides of the and by the banks of the Eridanos River.

The was the main gate in the city wall of Classical Athens. Located in the modern suburb of Kerameikos, it led to the namesake ancient cemetery, and to the roads connecting Athens with the rest of Greece.

The is a former temple on the , Greece, that was dedicated to the goddess Athena. Its decorative sculptures are considered some of the high points of classical Greek art, and the is considered an enduring symbol of ancient Greece, Western civilization, and democracy.

The or Hephaisteion, is a well-preserved Greek temple dedicated to Hephaestus; it remains standing largely intact today. It is a Doric peripteral temple, and is located at the north-west side of the Agora of Athens, on top of the Agoraios Kolonos hill.
