Tingo María National Park is located in the districts of Rupa Rupa and Mariano Dámaso, in the region of Huánuco, Peru. Tingo María is the capital of Leoncio Prado Province in the Huánuco Region in central Peru. It has a population of 46,191 inhabitants. Tingo María was considered unreachable until 1936, when the Montaña Road reached the settlement. Tingo María is situated 8 km north of Tingo María National Park.
