Alalcomenae or Alalkomenai, or Alcomenae or Alkomenai, was a town in Ithaca, or in the small island Asteris in the neighbourhood of Ithaca. According to Istros the Callimachean, Anticlea gave birth to Odysseus near Alalcomenae in Boeotia; consequently, Odysseus named an Ithacan town Alalcomenae in commemoration of his birthplace. Alalkomenés is situated 3½ km west of Mentor.

Vathy or Vathi is the largest settlement on the Greek Ionian island of Ithaca and the seat of the Ithaca regional unit. It is located in the southern part of the island, in a deep natural harbour.
