Jyväskylä is a lively university city and the capital of Central Finland. About a third of the city's 148,000 inhabitants are students. Beautifully set between lakes and ridges, many motorsports fans are familiar with the city as the Neste Oil Rally of the World Rally Championships series takes place around the city each July.

Vaajakoski is a district of Jyväskylä, Finland and the centre of Vaajakoski-Jyskä ward. It is located seven kilometres from the city centre on the Northern end of lake Päijänne, where it is bordered by Jyskä to the west, Sulunperä and Kaunisharju to the north, Tölskä to the west and Haapaniemi to the south. Vaajakoski is situated 3½ km southeast of Jyväskylä.
