Until 2009, Dalsbruk was the central settlement of the former municipality of Dragsfjärd, when the municipalities of Kemiö, Västanfjärd, and Dragsfjärd merged to form Kemiönsaari. Dalsbruk is situated 8 km north of Pattrorna.
