The Odesa Archaeological Museum is one of the oldest archaeological museums in Ukraine. It was founded in 1825; the current museum building was completed in 1883 according to a design by Polish architect Feliks Gąsiorowski. Odesa Archeological Museum is situated 260 metres west of Mytna Ploshcha.

Moldavanka is a historical part of Odesa in the Odesa Oblast of southern Ukraine, located jointly in Khadzhybeiskyi and Prymorskyi urban districts. Before 1820 it was a settlement just outside Odesa, which later engulfed it. Moldavanka is situated 3 km southwest of Mytna Ploshcha.
