Bawangaja is a famous Jain pilgrim center in the Barwani district of southwestern Madhya Pradesh in India. Located about 6 kilometers south of River Narmada, its main attraction is the world's second largest monolithic statue of Lord Rishabhadeva, the first Jain Tirthankara. Bawangaja is situated 7 km northwest of Amliapāni.

It is the administrative headquarters of Barwani district and has also served as the capital of the former princely state of Barwani. Barwani is situated 8 km north of Amliapāni.
