The first synagogue on the site was built in the 17th century but the building has been destroyed, partially or completely, and restored on several occasions. Ibn Danan Synagogue is situated 1 km northwest of Hôpital el Ghassani.

The Bou Inania Madrasa or Bu 'Inaniya Madrasa is a madrasa in Fez, Morocco, built in 1350–55 by the Marinid sultan Abu Inan Faris. It is the only madrasa in Morocco which also functioned as a congregational mosque. Bou Inania Madrasa is situated 2 km north of Hôpital el Ghassani.
