Avshar is a village in the Ararat Municipality of the Ararat Province of Armenia. It hosted the 1993 and 1995 CYMA – Canadian Youth Mission to Armenia led by Archbishop Hovnan Derderian and Ronald Alepian. Avshar is situated 2½ km east of Murch.

The village was populated by Azerbaijanis before the exodus of Azerbaijanis from Armenia after the outbreak of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Yeghegnavan is situated 2½ km west of Murch.
