Chihen-ji ruins is an archeological site with the ruins of a Heian period Buddhist temple located in the Ikegami neighborhood of the city of Kumamoto, Japan. The temple no longer exists, and its ruins were designated a National Historic Site in 1997.

Mount Kinbō or Mount Kinpō is a stratovolcano in the west of Kumamoto city, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan. It is an extinct stratovolcano and lava dome. Mount Kinbō overlooks the city of Kumamoto and is used for sightseeing and for radio and TV broadcast antennas. Mount Kinbō is situated 3 km north of Matsuo.
