Airolo railway station is a railway station in the Swiss canton of Ticino and municipality of Airolo. The station is on the original line of the Swiss Federal Railways Gotthard railway, at the southern entrance to the Gotthard Tunnel. Airolo railway station is situated 2 km southwest of Alpe di Pontino.

Lago della Sella is a reservoir near St. Gotthard Pass in the canton of Ticino, Switzerland. The gravity dam with a height of 36 m was completed in 1947. The dam was planned and built under control of the Swiss engineer Fritz Gigax.

Pizzo Centrale

Pizzo Centrale is a mountain in the Lepontine Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Uri and Ticino. At 2,999 metres above sea level, it is the highest summit overlooking Gotthard Pass from the east. Lago della Sella is located on its southern side. Pizzo Centrale is situated 3½ km north of Alpe di Pontino.
