Gyokutō is a town located in Tamana District, Kumamoto Prefecture, Japan on the island of Kyushu. As of 31 July 2024, the town had an estimated population of 5,181 in 2113 households, and a population density of 210 persons per km2. Gyokuto is situated 4½ km northeast of Kitayokouchi.

Kita-ku is one of the five wards of Kumamoto City, Japan. Meaning literally "north ward," it is bordered by the Nishi-ku, Chūō-ku, Higashi-ku and also by the cities of Yamaga, Kikuchi, Kōshi and the towns of Gyokutō and Kikuyō. Kita-ku is situated 10 km northeast of Kitayokouchi.
