The Grand Som is a mountain of the Chartreuse Mountains in the French Prealps, in Isère, France. It has a long ridge, unevenly sharp, overlooking the Petit Som, the Col de la Ruchère northwest and the Grande Chartreuse monastery below the cliffs. Grand Som is situated 3 km southwest of Les Arragons.

The Col du Cucheron, reaching a height of 1139 meters, is part of a series of low points in the "three passes" of the Chartreuse massif. These passes connect Saint-Pierre-de-Chartreuse to the south with Saint-Pierre d'Entremont to the north.
