Buechberg is an elongated molasse hill in the Swiss canton of Schwyz, located southeast of the Obersee. At 631 metres, its summit is significantly lower than the surrounding mountains of the Appenzell Alps and Schwyzer Alps, which are over 1,300 metres high.

The station is located on the Lake Zurich left-bank railway line, owned by the Swiss Federal Railways, and takes its name from Wangen and the adjacent village of Siebnen. Siebnen-Wangen railway station is situated 1½ km southwest of Bolenberg.
