In Middle Ages the Szymbark Castle was residence of several knight families: Gładysz, Stroński, Siedlecki, Bronikowski, Rogoyski, Sękiewicz, and Kuźniarski. Szymbark is situated 2½ km southwest of Ropica Polska.
