Kiyomizu-dera

Kiyomizu-dera is a Buddhist temple located in eastern Kyoto, Japan. It belongs to the Kita-Hosso sect of Japanese Buddhism and its honzon is a hibutsu statue of Jūichimen Kannon. Kiyomizu-dera is situated 670 metres west of Shogunzuka.

Kwasan Observatory is a Japanese observatory in the Kyoto University founded in 1929. Issei Yamamoto was the first director of the observatory. Kyoto University Kwasan Observatory is situated 190 metres southeast of Shogunzuka.
