Yao is a city located in Osaka Prefecture, Japan. As of 31 January 2022, the city had an estimated population of 263,436 in 126,509 households and a population density of 6300 persons per km2.

Ikuno-ku is one of the 24 wards residing in the prefecture of Osaka, Japan. It is well known for the Ikuno Korea Town in the Tsuruhashi area. The area has historically had a large number of Korean people, particularly Korean Japanese citizens living there, as well as for its large number of yakiniku restaurants. Ikuno-ku is situated 3½ km west of Tomoi.
