Monju Nuclear Power Plant
Monju was a Japanese sodium-cooled fast reactor, located near the Tsuruga Nuclear Power Plant, Fukui Prefecture. Its name is a reference to Manjusri. Construction started in 1986 and the reactor achieved criticality for the first time in April 1994.| Tap on a place to explore it |

Fugen ふげん was a prototype Japanese nuclear test reactor. Fugen was a domestic Japanese design for a demonstration Advanced Thermal Reactor. It was a heavy water moderated, boiling light water cooled reactor. Fugen Nuclear Power Plant is situated 3½ km northeast of Monju Nuclear Power Plant.
