Hohenau is a city and district of the Itapúa Department, Paraguay, and was the first of the Colonias Unidas. It was founded as a colony in 1900 by settlers of German descent, and maintains a significant population of German Paraguayans. Hohenau is situated 3½ km northeast of Cerro Kora.
