Hall of Crusades

The Salles des Croisades is a set of rooms located in the north wing of the Palace of Versailles. The rooms were created in the mid-19th century by King Louis-Philippe for his museum of French history, and opened in 1843, at a time when France was seized with enthusiasm with its historical past, and especially the Crusades period.
King’s Grand Apartment

The grand appartement du roi is the King's grand apartment of the Palace of Versailles. As a result of Louis Le Vau's envelope of Louis XIII’s château, constructed as part of Louis XIV's second building campaign, the King and Queen had new apartments in the new addition, known at the time as the château neuf. King’s Grand Apartment is situated 160 metres southwest of Royal Opera of Versailles.

The grand appartement de la reine is the Queen's grand apartment of the Palace of Versailles. Forming a parallel enfilade with that of the grand appartement du roi, the grand appartement de la reine served as the residence of three Queens of France: Maria Theresa of Spain, Marie Leszczyńska and Marie Antoinette. Queen’s Grand Apartment is situated 250 metres southwest of Royal Opera of Versailles.
