The Brisen is a mountain of the Urner Alps, located on the border between the cantons of Nidwalden and Uri, in Central Switzerland. It is located near the slightly higher Hoh Brisen. The western ridge named Haldigrat is the easiest way to the summit. Brisen is situated 2½ km south of Hermisegg.

The Buochserhorn is a mountain of the Swiss Prealps, overlooking Lake Lucerne near Buochs in the canton of Nidwalden. It lies on the range west of the Schwalmis. Buochserhorn is situated 3 km northwest of Hermisegg.

Besides the village of Wolfenschiessen itself, the municipality includes the settlements of Altzellen, Büren ob dem Bach, Dörfli, and Oberrickenbach, together with a large area of high alpine land, mountains, lakes, and glaciers. Wolfenschiessen is situated 4 km west of Hermisegg.
