Hvar is an island off the coast of Croatia with a population of about 11,000 people. Imposing fortifications hover above the fluid blend of grey stone and orange cascading roofs.

Grapčeva Cave is a Neolithic and Bronze Age archaeological site. Three distinct prehistorical cultures were discovered here: Nakovan, Cetina and Hvar culture. Grapčeva Cave is situated 2½ km south of Prapatna.
