The Old Synagogue is a former Reform Jewish congregation and synagogue, located at Steeler Straße 29, in Essen, in the state of North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Essen City Hall is a 23-storey, 106 m skyscraper in Essen, Germany. When completed on 1 July 1979, it was one of the tallest city halls in Europe and is currently the third tallest city hall in Germany after New Town Hall and Hamburg City Hall.

Altenessen is a northern borough of the city of Essen, Germany. Officially it is divided into the two boroughs of Altenessen-Nord and Altenessen-Süd. Because of its size, Altenessen was divided into two parts, when it was incorporated into the city of Essen in 1915. Altenessen is situated 4 km north of Ostviertel.
