Tampere is the third largest city in Finland with around 260,000 inhabitants, and around 410,000 in the metropolitan area. Located 170 km north of the Finnish coastal capital Helsinki, it is also the most populous inland town in the Nordic countries. Nokia Arena is situated 430 metres southeast of Koskikeskus.

Tammerkoski is a channel of rapids in Tampere, Finland. The city of Tampere is located between two lakes, Näsijärvi and Pyhäjärvi. The difference in altitude between these two is 18 metres and the water flows from Näsijärvi to Pyhäjärvi through the Tammerkoski rapids.
