Rundāle Palace is one of the two major baroque palaces built for the Dukes of Courland in what is now Latvia, the other being Jelgava Palace. The palace was built in two periods, from 1736 until 1740 and from 1764 until 1768.

Mežotne is a village in the Mežotne Parish of Bauska Municipality in the Semigallia region of Latvia, 10 km west of Bauska and 40 km south of the capital of Latvia, Riga. It is located on the left bank of the Lielupe river near the Lithuanian border.

Pilsrundāle is a village in the Rundāle Parish of Bauska Municipality in the Semigallia region of Latvia, approximately 40 kilometers from Jelgava. Pilsrundāle had 862 residents as of 2006. Rundāle Palace is located in Pilsrundāle. Pilsrundāle is situated 2½ km west of Mazmežotne.
