Madrid is Spain's capital and largest city. A city that has been marked by Spain's varied and tumultuous history, Madrid has some of Europe's most impressive cultural and architectural heritage, which includes grand avenues, plazas, buildings and monuments, world-class art galleries and museums, highly popular football teams, and cultural events of international fame for everyone.
Valladolid
Valladolid is a city in Castile and León in northern Spain, with a population of just over 300,000 in 2024. Much of it is modern and industrial but there's a concentration of sights in its medieval core.
Toledo

Toledo is a historic city in Castilla La Mancha, sitting majestically above the Tagus River and denoted a UNESCO heritage site in 1986. It is a very worthwhile day-trip from Madrid, only half an hour by train.

Castile and León is a region of Central Spain, named for its many medieval castles. It's on a plateau and is bordered to the north by coastal Cantabria, Asturias and Galicia, east by Madrid and Castile-La Mancha, south by Extremadura, and west by Trás-os-Montes e Alto Douro in northern Portugal.
