East Rutherford is a borough in which is in the northeast part of . Formerly known as the township of Boiling Springs, East Rutherford was renamed on May 23, 1893 when it was purchased by the Borough officers of the East Rutherford Borough.

Rutherford is a New Jersey Transit railroad station served by the Bergen County Line located in , , United States. The station is located near a traffic circle at the junction of Park Avenue, Union Avenue, Erie Avenue and Orient Way known as Station Square, with a grade crossing on Park Avenue.
