Ganja is Azerbaijan's second largest city, with a population of around 335,600. The city has been a historic and cultural center throughout most of its existence.

Yevlakh is a city in Azerbaijan, 265 km west of the capital of Baku. It is surrounded by but administratively separate from the Yevlakh District.

Naftalan is a city in Azerbaijan, known as a medical touristic center. It is located on an agricultural plain near the Lesser Caucasus Mountains. The word naftalan also means a petroleum product that can be obtained there.

Qazax is a city in and the capital of the Gazakh District of Azerbaijan. It has a population of 20,900. Gazakh is a city and administrative district in the west of Azerbaijan, the "western gate" of Azerbaijan.

Goygol is a city, municipality and the capital of the Goygol District in northwestern Azerbaijan. It is around 10 km south of Azerbaijan's third-largest city, Ganja.

Göygöl National Park — is a national park of Azerbaijan. It was established in an area in Goygol Rayon administrative district on April 1, 2008, on the basis of the former "Goy Gol State Reserve" that was established in 1925 and which it superseded, on a surface area of 12,755 hectares.
