, formerly Przhevalsk, is the fourth-largest city in , near the eastern tip of Lake , about 150 kilometres from the Kyrgyzstan–China border and 380 kilometres from the capital .

is a city of 51,000 people at . It was the center of the lake's fishing fleet, but has suffered a major decline since the collapse of the Soviet Union. It now only on the path to the tourist sites of the lake, but largely by-passed.

is a resort town on the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul in with a population of 14,237. It is the administrative center of the of Issyk-Kul Region; this district occupies most of the lake's north shore.

is a district of Isxsyk-Kul Region in eastern . The administrative center lies at the village . Its area is 9,917 square kilometres, and its resident population was 69,439 in 2021.

is a district of Issyk-Kul Region in north-eastern . Its seat lies at . Its area is 14,499 square kilometres, and its resident population was 93,392 in 2021. It comprises much of the eastern end of the Terskey Ala-Too Range.

Bökönbai is a village in the Issyk-Kul Region of . The village is named in honor of the well-known poet and playwright Joomart Bökönbayev. It is the seat of the and of the Kün-Chygysh village community.

Kajy-Say is a village in in Issyk-Kul Region of . It was established in regard with development of Segety deposit of brown coal in 1947. Its population was 4,612 in 2021. Until 2012 it was an urban-type settlement.

Jyrgalang is a village in the of Issyk-Kul Region of . It is located at the right bank of the river Jyrgalang. It was established in 1964 to support operation of a coal mine .
